Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application (PXB250.00) dated January 24, 2025, accepted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from Hopewell Designs Inc., requesting the export of one self-contained irradiator with two sealed sources. The irradiator contains two Cesium-137 sources with an activity level of 41.38 Terabecquerels (TBq) and 0.0359 TBq, for a total activity of 41.41 TBq, to be used for calibration of instruments used in radiation protection at the U.S.
Army USATA Division Europe in Germany.
As a matter of process, and in accordance with 10 CFR 110.81 the application will be public for 30 days before the NRC takes any action on them. If no dissenting public comments are received, and all applicable legal requirements are satisfied, the NRC will issue the license, after the 30-day comment period.
