JOINT PROPOSED DEADLINES FOR NEW OR AMENDED CONTENTIONS ON THE DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT Pursuant to the Boards February 3, 2025 Memorandum and Order (ML25034A217),
Holtec Palisades, LLC and Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC (Applicants) hereby inform the Board that Applicants, NRC Staff, and the Petitioning Organizations (Beyond Nuclear, Dont Waste Michigan, Michigan Safe Energy Future, Three Mile Island Alert, and Nuclear Energy Information Service) have conferred and agree to the following proposed schedule for filing new or amended contentions based on the draft Environmental Assessment published on January 31, 2025:
March 3, 2025 - deadline to file new or amended contentions;
March 28, 2025 - deadline for answers;
April 4, 2025 - deadline for replies.
Applicants, NRC Staff, and Petitioning Organizations respectfully request that the Board issue a scheduling order reflecting the agreed briefing schedule above.
2 Applicants and the other participants consulted with the designated representative for Joint Petitioners (Alan Blind, Jody Flynn, Tom Flynn, Bruce Davis, Karen Davis, Christian Moevs, Mary Hoffman, Chuck Hoffman, and Diane Ebert). Joint Petitioners representative indicated that the Joint Petitioners neither support nor oppose the above briefing schedule. Joint Petitioners representative also requested that Applicants include a summary of the consultation and indicate that the Joint Petitioners request that the Boards consideration of any new or amended contentions not lead to delays in addressing Joint Petitioners contentions.
