Dear Mr. Monninger,
U.S. Department of Homeland Security FEMA Region 6 800 N. Loop 288 Denton, TX 76209 FEMA I am pleased to announce the successful completion of the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plume Exposure Pathway Exercise held on July 17, 2024, and a Medical Services Drill held on August 15, 2024, for the South Texas Project, located in Matagorda County, Texas. The Exercise and drill, evaluated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 6, exercised the implementation ofradiological response plans within the State of Texas.
The evaluations yielded no Level 1 findings, Level 2 findings, or plan issues signifying the absence of critical deficiencies in response protocols. The overall outcome confirms the State of Texas and affected local jurisdictions possess reasonable assurance of their ability to protect public health and safety in the event of a radiological emergency.
Therefore, the existing Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 350 approval for offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Texas, as it pertains to the South Texas Project, remains in effect.
