No: 25-007 January 31, 2025 CONTACT: Scott Burnell, 301-415-8200 NRC Seeks Input on Draft Environmental Assessment for Palisades Nuclear Plant Restart Requests The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is seeking public comment on the draft environmental assessment and draft finding of no significant impact for Holtecs request to return the Palisades Nuclear Plant to an operational status. The draft report contains the NRC staffs evaluation and draft conclusion that there are no significant environmental impacts from restarting Palisades, located in Covert, Michigan.
The public can submit comments on the draft report: online at regulations.gov, under Docket ID NRC-2024-0076; email to PalisadesRestartEnvironmental@nrc.gov; or by U.S. mail to Office of Administration, Mail Stop: TWFN-7-A60M, ATTN: Program Management, Announcements and Editing Staff, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555- 0001. The deadline for submitting comments is March 3.
