SUMMARY
OF October 25, 2023, PERIODIC ADVANCED REACTOR STAKEHOLDER PUBLIC MEETING On October 25, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an information meeting with a question-and-answer session with stakeholders to discuss advanced reactor topics including:
Status of Draft Seismic Regulatory Guides DG-1410 and DG-1307, Standard Design Approvals for Construction Permit and Operating License Applications, Fuel Cycle Activities Supporting Advanced Reactor Deployment and Metallic Fuel Qualification and a presentation by Industry group -NEI topic on Enhancing International Regulatory Efficiency.
The meeting notice is available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML23201A038, and the presentation slides are available under Accession No. ML23200A301. The Enclosure to this summary provides the attendees for the meeting as captured by Microsoft Teams.
For each topic listed above, the NRC staff provided information and allotted time for stakeholder comments and questions. Stakeholders provided feedback on these topics and asked clarifying questions. NRC staff appreciates the feedback provided and no follow-up actions were identified.

The NRC staff provided updates of the Advanced Reactor Integrated Schedule of Activities on the NRCs public website at https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/new-reactors/advanced/how-were-executing.html. The NRC staff noted that the schedule reflects activities that have recently been completed, updated, or added since the July 20, 2023, advanced reactor stakeholder meeting.
This presenter provided an update on the schedule for releasing for public comment the Draft Regulatory Guides DG-1410, "Technology Inclusive, Risk Informed, And Performance Based Methodology for Seismic Design of Commercial Nuclear Plants" and DG-1307, "Seismically Isolated Nuclear Power Plants." and an overview of new approaches (three options) to seismic design for commercial nuclear plants to better inform stakeholders of content ahead of public release.
Staff provided Development of New Reactor Application Standard Content to Support Timely, Efficient, and Effective Reviews of Subsequent Applications and a high-level guidance for the development of standard content for a new reactor application using the design centered review approach (DCRA) to facilitate a more efficient and timely review of subsequent applications To see information regarding previously held periodic advanced reactor stakeholder public meetings, please visit the NRCs public website at https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/new-reactors/advanced/stakeholder-engagement/meetings.html.
