This is an Information Meeting with a Question and Answer Session. The purpose of this meeting is for the NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to discuss regulatory and technical issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed throughout the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.

Purpose:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will host a public meeting to explain the NRC staffs development of preliminary options to provide regulatory flexibility in 10 CFR Part 52 during construction and operational phases. This meeting will focus primarily on the change process for Tier 1 and Tier 2* information and the adjustment of tier designations. This activity was directed by the Commission in a staff requirements memorandum dated November 20, 2024 (ADAMS Accession No. ML24326A003).

No regulatory decisions will be made during the meeting. The staff is not accepting comments on the related rulemaking during this meeting. There will be no formal responses to any of the discussions during this meeting.
