The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is publishing the following document in the Federal Register:

Final Rule: Adjustment of Civil Penalties for Inflation for Fiscal Year 2025.

Description of the document: The Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990, as amended by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015 (the Act), requires Federal agencies to annually adjust for inflation the civil monetary penalty amounts that the agency can assess. This rule amends the NRCs regulations to implement the Act.

Dates: The effective date of this rule is January 15, 2025.

This is not a major rule as defined by the Congressional Review Act.
