QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM APPROVAL FOR RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL PACKAGE NUMBER 0967, REVISION 0
Dear Dominik Bussmann:
Enclosed is the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) Approval for Radioactive Material Package No. 0967, Revision No. 0, in response to your letter(s) dated July 10, 2020, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML20198M431, and as supplemented on May 15, 2023, and June 27, 2024 (ML23257A089 and ML24192A182, respectively). The supplements were in response to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRC) request for additional information dated on August 30, 2023, and February 22, 2024 (ML23257A087 and ML24038A268, respectively). The NRC conducted this review as a part of a new application for a certificate of compliance for the Model No. CASTOR geo69 spent fuel transportation package. This Approval satisfies the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 71.17(b) and 71.101(c) for a QAP approved by the NRC.
Termination of your materials license does not cause this Approval to be automatically terminated. If you wish to amend this Approval and have determined it reduces commitments, or terminate this Approval, please request it in writing.
This letter also serves as a reminder that if you are using or planning to use an NRC-approved package, you must be registered for use of that package with the NRC.
Registration for use of an NRC-approved package should be made pursuant to 10 CFR 71.17(c)(3).
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS.
