SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 7, 2024, PUBLIC MEETING WITH PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY On November 7, 2024, an Observation public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of the Pennsylvania State University (PSU). The meeting was conducted via webinar to discuss a proposed license amendment request by PSU staff to upgrade the Penn State Breazeale Reactor from an analog reactor safety system (RSS) to a digital TRICONEX RSS. The meeting notice and agenda, dated October 9, 2024, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System at Accession No. ML24283A116. A copy of the presentation used by the PSU staff during the meeting is available at ML24306A070. A list of meeting attendees is provided as an enclosure to this summary.
During the public meeting, PSU staff provided an overview of their proposed TRICONEX upgrade and responded to questions from the NRC staff. Topics covered included TRICONEX version, proposed timeline of events, and NRC endorsed reference materials.
No questions or comments were received from any other attendees. The meeting adjourned at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.
