This is an Information Meeting with a Question and Answer Session. The purpose of this meeting is for the NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to discuss regulatory and technical issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed throughout the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will provide an update on the NRCs Restart Panel activities and emergency preparedness plans for the Palisades Nuclear Plant (Palisades) potential resumption of power operations. Additionally, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will discuss their role regarding emergency preparedness for Palisades. The public is encouraged to ask questions about the NRCs oversight pertaining to the potential Palisades restart.

This meeting is hybrid (in person & virtual). The Open House will be held in person only from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET, as it does not lend itself to the hybrid format. You can also join the meeting by telephone using the Teleconference number provided. Please note that in-person attendees will be given priority to speak during the public questions and comments session.
