This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
To discuss the NRC staffs determination that Proposed Alternative RR-10 related to auxiliary feedwater valve testing at Prairie Island, Unit 1, is not required. Proposed Alternative RR-10 requested to defer quarterly and post-replacement testing of certain valves in the auxiliary feedwater system until plant startup after the current refueling outage, when plant conditions would support performance of the tests. The NRC staff determined deferring the tests until plant startup meets applicable requirements, so an alternative is not required.
