This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.

Purpose:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will discuss the proposed rule to amend its environmental protection regulations that govern the NRCs environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). The proposed rule would codify the findings of the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for Licensing of New Nuclear Reactors, Draft NUREG-2249. The NRC staff will provide information and receive public comments on the proposed changes to NRC regulations, the draft NUREG-2249, and associated guidance.
