Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an amendment application accepted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on August 21, 2023, from Flowserve US, Inc, (XCOM1321/01). The current license authorizes the export of two residual heat removal pump/motor assemblies for use at the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 3, in China.
The purpose of the amendment is to: 1) add the Intermediate Foreign Consignee, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute and 2) extend the expiration date from 10/30/2023 to 10/30/2027.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
Please note that the dollar amount in the application is proprietary information. The NRC will not include this information in the public records and requests that the Executive Branch agencies protect it as well.
