Clarification information requested is provided below:

Could UUSA clarify whether the Table 2-3 quantity of LLRW (945,800 kg/yr) as used in the 2024 RAI responses includes both liquid and solid LLRW (including the filters)?

Yes, the Table 2-3 quantity of LLRW of 945,800 kg/yr evaluated in the Environmental Assessment of facility expansion that was used in the 2024 RAI responses included liquid, solid and filters. The Table 2-3 quantity remains bounding for LEU+ production, storage and handling as proposed in LAR 23-02, as well use of recycling and support systems proposed in LAR 24-01.

Also, it would be helpful if they could provide the quantities and destination of the two LLRW liquid shipments that have occurred since the start of facility operation.

Shipment 1:

Date: 20 December 2016 Number of trucks: 2 Number of totes (total): 19 Quantity: 23,451 kg

Shipment 2:

Date: 25 October 2019 Number of trucks: 2 Number of totes (total): 20 Quantity: 24,109 kg

All shipments were delivered to Energy Solutions, Clive UT.

Hi Jonathan,

UUSAs environmental RAI responses state that Despite this change in down blending operations, these same processes are expected to result in no increase in wastes, effluents or emissions when compared with the amounts estimated in the facility expansion Environmental Assessment [NRC, Environmental Assessment for the Proposed URENCO USA Uranium Enrichment Facility Capacity Expansion in Lea County, New Mexico, dated 18 March 2015, Table 2-3 (ML15072A279, ML15072A016)].

Could UUSA clarify whether the Table 2-3 quantity of LLRW (945,800 kg/yr) as used in the 2024 RAI responses includes both liquid and solid LLRW (including the filters)?

Also, it would be helpful if they could provide the quantities and destination of the two LLRW liquid shipments that have occurred since the start of facility operation.
