OBJECTIVE OF THE PUBLIC MEETING

No changes to T&E Requirements Maintained NRCs current T&E requirements for use of unsealed byproduct material in 10 CFR Part 35 Re-evaluate T&E for EMTs Reconsider current T&E for EMTs and gather stakeholder feedback as part of EMT/Rb-82 Generator Rulemaking Specialty Board Evaluation Completed an evaluation of whether each specialty board still satisfies the board recognition criteria T&E Implementation Guidance Develop implementation guidance to clarify expectations on how individuals fulfill T&E and clarify the roles and responsibilities of persons subject to T&E BACKGROUND ON T&E GUIDANCE DEVELOPMENT SECY-20-0005 Rulemaking Plan For T&E Requirements for Unsealed Byproduct Material (10 CFR Part 35)

This document provides guidance for implementing the training and experience requirements in 10 CFR Part 35, "Medical Use of Byproduct Material.

Interim Staff Guidance Purpose Provides guidance for implementing T&E requirements for use by licensees or applicants seeking to add individuals to license as authorized individuals including AUs, RSOs, ARSOs, ANPs, AMPs, or OPs Provides criteria for NRC staff and AS regulators to evaluate applications or license amendment requests Applicability Streamlines existing guidance to improve both clarity and accessibility Goals Clarifies the roles and responsibilities of individuals subject to the T&E requirements Expectations Explains expectations for these individuals to fulfill the T&E requirements Use Intended to be used until superseded or incorporated in other guidance or rulemaking (guidance updated for EMT rulemaking)
