Cancellation Notice from Chief Financial Officer of General Electric Company Parent Guarantee of Funds for Decommissioning I am the chief financial officer of the General Electric Company, 41 Farnsworth Street, Boston, MA 02210, a New York Corporation ("the compaf!y"). The company has historically provided a "parent company guarantee" to establish financial assurance for nuclear decommissioning of facilities owned and/or operated by Global Nuclear Fuel-America, LLC, GE Reuter Stokes, Inc., and GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas, LLC (the "licensees") as set forth in Attachment A to this letter. Those guarantees were established pursuant to the regulatory requirements set forth at 10 CFR Part 30. Effective last year the company no longer met the NRC's required annual financial test for using a parent guarantee to provide financial assurance, and the licensees have therefore instead obtained alternate mechanisms (submitted in March of 2018). Once an alternative mechanism is in place, the regulations allow a parent guarantor to cancel the existing guarantee by submitting a notification in writing to the regulatory agencies and the licensees. This letter provides notice of the company's cancellation of the parent company guarantees that were issued in 2017 (one to the NRC and one each to CA and NC, all dated May 1, 2017) for the licenses shown in Attachment 1. Each affected licensee has been notified, and each has established a replacement financial assurance mechanism that was submitted for review in March 2018.
