Westinghouse Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility January 2024 Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Report and July 2024 Groundwater Monitoring Data Summary Table Report In accordance with Section 10.1.6 of the SNM-1107 License Application, Westinghouse Electric Company LLC (Westinghouse) is submitting Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Report documentation to the NRC. In September 2023 the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SC-DES) renewed National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit (No. SC0001848) for the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facilitys (CFFF). In accordance with the renewed NPDES permit, Groundwater Monitoring Reports are now submitted semiannually to SC-DES instead of annually. Westinghouse is providing the Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Report and supporting appendices for the October 2023 sampling period as Enclosure 1. The report for the October 2023 sampling period was submitted in January 2024 to the SC-DES as required by the CFFF NPDES permit.
In addition, Westinghouse is submitting the Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Data Summary Table correspondence and supporting analytical data for the April 2024 sampling period as Enclosure 2. As required by Part III Section C.1.j. of the CFFF NPDES permit, a Monitoring Data Summary Table was prepared and submitted in July 2024 to the SC-DES in lieu of a comprehensive Semiannual Groundwater Report while Feasibility Study (FS) evaluations continue under Westinghouses Consent Agreement HW-19-02 with the SC-DES. The Monitoring Data Summary Table includes discussion of select trend data, sample methods used for the collection of groundwater, and supporting laboratory analytical information.
