ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECIEPT FOR LOUISIANA ENERGY SERVICES, LLC, CLASSIFIED SYSTEMS REQUEST FOR DEVIATIONS FROM CYBERSECURITY CONTROL IMPLEMENTATIONS
Dear Paul Lorskulsint:
In a letter dated August 26, 2024, Louisiana Energy Services (LES), LLC, doing business as Urenco USA (UUSA), made a request to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to review and approve deviations to cybersecurity controls identified in its current Plans of Action and Milestones report (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. (ML24240A079)). These systems are currently operating under an NRC-authorized Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) that is valid through December 31, 2024 (ML24180A161). Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 95.49, Security of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Systems and 32 CFR 117.18(e)(6), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual require that UUSA receive an authorization by the cognizant security agency authorizing official (AO) to operate classified systems.
The NRC acknowledges this request and anticipates providing a response prior to November 30, 2024.
