Dear Mr. Boyle:
QSA Global, Inc. requests amendment of the certificate referenced above for the Model 880 Series Type B(U) containers. This amendment request is for endorsement of these packages to the IAEA Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material, 2018 Edition, No. SSR-6 (Rev. 1). Compliance with this version of the IAEA regulations is required for international transport of these packages in ADR countries after December 2025. An endorsement under the DOT Certificate of Authority to these regulations is requested to facilitate submission for subsequent ADR approval since it is based on the Certificate of Authority.
The majority of changes under IAEA SSR-6 (2018) from the (2012) version of these regulations has no significant impact on compliance of the Model 880 Series containers. Attached is a summary table which outlines areas of the 2018 regulations that do have implications for these packages. This table includes our assessment as to impacts and conformance of the Model 880 Series containers to the IAEA SSR-6 (2018) requirement changes.
