Re: Renewal of Dresden Clean Energy Centers license
Nuclear Regulatory Commission,
This letter serves as Grundy Countys confirmed support of the renewal of the Dresden Clean Energy Centers license. Constellation Energy has submitted an application to extend the current license until 2051 and Grundy County very much is in favor of this extension until 2051.
Dresden Clean Energy Center has been an important, vital part of the Grundy County Community. The facility employs 700 professionals, clerical workers, tradespeople, union members, and security personal. The facility contributes approximately $24.6 million in property taxes annually and employee contributions go to the United Way, Goose Lake Prairie Partners, Grundy Area PADS, Morris Downtown Development Partnership, Chanooka (combined efforts with the Villages of Channahon, and Minooka) Wish Foundation, Coal City Food Pantry, local school STEM donations and other local civic and charitable organizations annually.
A strong collaborative relationship has developed between Grundy County and the Dresden Clean Energy Center, and the County is very much looking forward to maintaining and strengthening this relationship until 2051 and beyond. Grundy County strongly urges this committee to approve the application for extension. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Mary J. Kucharz, Grundy County Administrator mkucharz@grundycountyil.gov
