NUSCALE POWER, LLC, SAFETY EVALUATION FOR STANDARD DESIGN APPROVAL APPLICATION SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT CHAPTERS 7, 9, 12, AND 18

By letter dated October 31, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23306A033), NuScale Po wer, LLC (NuScale) submitted the Standard Design Approval (SDA) application, Revision 1 in accordance with requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulation (10 CFR) Part 52, Subpart E, Standard Design Approvals. NuScale requested U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review, approval, and granting of SDA for its US460 standard plant design.

Based on our review of the application, the staff is providing the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) the ADAMS Accession No. for its safety evaluation (SE), without open items for the following four chapters of t he SDA application Final Safety Analysis Report:

1. Chapter 7, Instrumentation and Controls (ML24080A188) 1
2. Chapter 9, Auxiliary Systems (ML24158A069) 1
3. Chapter 12, Radiation Protection (ML24082A082) 1
4. Chapter 18, Human Factors Engineering (ML24019A002)

These SEs are being provided to support a meeting of the subcommittee of the ACRS on August 22, 2024.
