SUMMARY
OF THE JULY 24, 2024, PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING CLINTON POWER STATION, UNIT 1, PARTIAL SITE RELEASE (EPID L-2023-LLA-0088)
On July 24, 2024, a Comment-Gathering Public Meeting was held by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for members of the public in the vicinity of Clinton Power Station at the Clinton City Hall, 118 West Washington Street, Ste. 3, Clinton, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting was to obtain public comments on the Constellation Energy Generation, LLC, (Constellation) request for partial site release dated June 7, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23158A262), as supplemented by letter dated February 8, 2024 (ML24039A182). Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulation (10 CFR), section 50.83, "Release of part of a power reactor facility or site for unrestricted use," Constellation requested approval to transfer 172.7 acres of land for the Clinton Lake Marina to DeWitt County, Illinois. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.83, as part of the review process, the NRC staff held this public meeting in the vicinity of the site.
Meeting participants included NRC staff from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, and the Clinton Resident Inspector Office.
The public meeting notice (ML24193A004) was posted on the NRC public website. The Federal Register Notice was published on July 9, 2024 (89 FR 56445). The newspaper notice was published in the Clinton Journal on July 19, 2024.
No members of the public attended the meeting. Meeting feedback forms were not received.
