Subject:

[External_Sender] Docket ID NRC-2024-0078 - Please Build in WY - US needs More Safe Cost-Effective Nuclear Power Please build the TerraPower Natrium Reactor nuclear power plant in WY. Such nuclear technology is safe, very cost-effective and generates no air emissions. Nuclear waste disposal has good solutions, e.g., as in deep salt domes, and is actually not a real problem.

The lifecycle environmental footprint of nuclear power plants is much smaller (spatially, resource-wise etc.) than the solar and wind pretend green energy alternatives that are not at all cost-effective as baseload electrical generation options.

I wish my state of NM was smarter to also have such a project slated to make up for our foolish shutdown of baseload power at the Four Corners power plant here. We need to return to an "all the above" approach to COST-EFFECTIVE electrical power generation instead of non-viable expensive green power fantasies, like solar electricity stored in toxic fire-prone Li-Ion batteries.

Climate change will continue with the Milankovich Cycles regardless of man-made emissions and we will need lower cost electricity to cost-effectively deal with it.

Since we continue foolishly destroying the US grid's baseload power generation of even clean-coal fired generation plants that rate-payers continue to pay debt service on, we are left with only nuclear power now that the current US regime allows for viably powering the US at night and during windless & cloudy weather. Oil & natural gas are too valuable & expensive to be used for base or peak load electrical grid power.

The US and the world needs more safe, efficient and lower cost Nuclear Power. Please build it in WY, and all over the US where we have foolishly shuttered even clean-coal baseload power plants.

Sincerely, Vernon & Marilyn Hershberger 9 Jon Kitsch Rd.
