Meeting Summary:
On July 22, 2024, a virtual partially closed observation meeting was held between the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Kairos. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss three of the limitations and conditions contained in KP-TR-013-P-A, Metallic Material Qualification for the Kairos Power Fluoride Salt-Cooled High-Temperature Reactor. Kairos representatives identified the 11 approved topical reports that directly support a future Hermes 1 operating license application and stated that closure plans for each of the limitations and conditions in these reports have been developed and will be summarized in the Hermes operating license application (ML24183A408).
Members of the public voiced no comments or questions.
Discussions between the NRC staff and Kairos representatives continued during a closed meeting to discuss detailed technical closure plans containing proprietary information.
