SUBJECT:
U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REVIEW OF EXPORT LICENSE APPLICATION PXB244.00
Dear Ms. Noel:
I am writing to update you on the status of your export license application PXB244.00. The application is currently under review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the export of Category 2 and subcategory 2 quantities of americium (Am)-241, Am-241/beryllium (Be), and cesium (Cs) 137 to Iraq. Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 110.40(d) states, in part, if the Commission has not completed action on a license application within 60 days after receipt of the Executiv e Branch (EB) judgement, the NRC is required to inform the applicant in writing of the reason for the delay.
The NRC received the final EB judgment on May 13, 2024, but additional time is needed for the NRC to complete its review of the export application.
You may contact Lauren Mayros and Joanne Savoy, the licensing officers assigned to your case, at any time for additional information via email at Lauren.Mayros@nrc.gov and Joanne.Savoy@nrc.gov.
Sincerely,
7/9/2024 X Peter J. Habighor st
