No: IV-24-010 June 17, 2024 CONTACT: Victor Dricks , 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Brian Tindell as the new senior resident inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One nuclear power plant in Russellville, Arkansas. The plant is operated by Entergy Operations.

Brians prior experience at Arkansas Nuclear One and commitment to safety will help the NRC in its mission of protecting people and the environment by helping ensure that the plant continues to meet the high standards set by the agency, said NRC Region IV Administrator John Monninger.

Tindell joined the NRC in 2003 and has served as a reactor inspector, operator licensing examiner, and resident inspector at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas, and as a reactor engineer in the agencys Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in Rockville, Maryland.

He served as the senior resident inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One from 2013 through 2017.

Tindell holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma Christian University.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors. He will be joining resident inspector Tim DeBey at the site. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
