SUMMARY

OF MAY 16, 2024, PARTIALLY CLOSED PRE-APPLICATION PUBLIC MEETING WITH WESTINGHOUSE COLUMBIA FUEL FABRICATION FACILITY On May 16, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a hybrid (in-person and virtual) partially closed public meeting with Westinghouse Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (Westinghouse). Westinghouse had requested this meeting to discuss its proposed low enriched uranium plus facility expansion at its currently licensed fuel fabrication facility in Hopkins, South Carolina that will be used to manufacture light water reactor fuel enriched up to 8 weight percent uranium-235. The first session of the meeting was open to the public while the second session was closed to the public for discussion of security-related and proprietary information. The meeting notice and agenda, dated April 30, 2024, is available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML24121A081. Westinghouses presentations (slides) for the open (public) session (ML24134A276) and closed (non-public) session (ML24134A277, non-public) are also in ADAMS. The list of attendees and summaries of the open and closed sessions are enclosed.
