The Licensing Board will conduct a prehearing conference in this subsequent license renewal proceeding on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) to hear oral argument on the issues presented in Miami Waterkeepers motion to admit new and amended contentions and its request to waive certain provisions of 10 C.F.R. Part 51.1 The oral argument will be held in person in the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panels Hearing Room, located on the third floor of the Two White Flint North Building, at 11545 Rockville Pike, in Rockville, Maryland. The Board anticipates that the argument will not exceed two hours.

The Board will hear from counsel for Miami Waterkeeper, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Staff, and Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), in that order. Miami Waterkeeper will be allotted 30 minutes to present oral argument and answer questions. The

NRC Staff and FPL each will be allotted 20 minutes. Miami Waterkeeper may reserve up to 10 minutes of their prescribed time for rebuttal. No other rebuttal will be permitted.2 Counsel should plan to arrive about an hour before the conference, entering NRC Headquarters through the One White Flint North Building, to allow enough time to proceed through security and to be escorted to the Hearing Room. On or before noon ET on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, counsel shall email Panel administrative assistant Twana Ellis (Twana.Ellis@nrc.gov), with a copy to all other counsel, specifying the names of the representatives who will be presenting argument and any other representatives attending on behalf of each party.

Members of the public may observe the oral argument in the Hearing Room.

Alternatively, members of the public may listen to the oral argument on a listen-only telephone line. The Board will issue a separate order with the listen-only telephone number in advance of the argument. The argument also will be transcribed, and the transcript will be placed promptly in the NRCs electronic hearing docket, where it will be publicly available.
