Dear Mr. Bolin:
By letter dated January 11, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No.: ML24011A221) General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) submitted a white paper titled, Fast Modular Reactor Selection of Licensing Basis Events, for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs review. The WP describes the selection process of licensing basis events applicable to GA-EMSs helium-cooled fast modular rector design.
The enclosure to this letter provides the NRC staffs feedback on the January 11, 2024, white paper for GA-EMS to consider as part of any future submittal that may address this topic.
