OF THE MAY 8, 2024, PUBLIC OUTREACH TO DISCUSS THE NRC 2023 END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 On May 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CDT), a public webinar with question-and-answer session was held by representatives of the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide the public with information on the 2023 end-of-cycle plant performance assessment of Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2, along with general information on the NRC.

The NRC representatives discussed plant performance with members of the public and county and municipal employees. Representatives from Northern States Power Company were also in attendance.

The NRC discussed their assessment of Prairie Islands performance as documented in the February 28, 2024, end-of-cycle assessment letter (ADAMS Accession No. ML24058A362). During the question-and-answer session of the open house, representatives from the NRC discussed various topics of public interest.
