ARKANSAS PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT PLAN APPROVAL
Dear Renee Mallory:
On May 9,2024, the Arkansas Agreement State Program (Arkansas) submitted a Program Improvement Plan (PIP) ( ML24131A025) which specifies actions to address performance issues identified during the 2024 Integrated Materials Performance Evaluation Program (IMPEP) review. Arkansas submitted the PIP after being placed on Heightened Oversight based on the results of the 2024 IMPEP review. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff have reviewed the information provided in the PIP and determined that the PIP adequately addresses the performance issues identified during the 2024 IMPEP review and approves the PIP. The PIP also contains estimated completion dates, where available, and specifies clear roles and responsibilities.
The initial monthly status call between the NRC and Arkansas is scheduled to be conducted on June 10, 2024. Please submit any PIP status updates to your Regional State Agreements Officer, Randy Erickson, at least five days prior to subsequent calls.
