Dear Mr. Downs,
BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. - Lynchburg (BWXT NOG-L) hereby notifies the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that BWXT NOG-L elects to substitute alternate financial assurance in the form of the enclosed Decommissioning Surety Bond Number US00137135SU24A, issued by XL Specialty Insurance Company. This replaces the existing financial assurance in the form of Decommissioning Surety Bond Number SUR0023602, issued by Argonaut Insurance Company and filed with the NRC.
Surety Bond Number US00137135SU24A is being issued in the amount of $40,119,661 and replicates the terms and conditions of the previous bond issued by Argonaut Insurance Company. This action does not alter the Standby Trust Agreement.
