Dear Paula Gerfen:
Enclosed is a revision to the Quality Assurance Program Approval for Radioactive Material Packages No. 0969, Revision 1, for Humboldt Bay Independent Spent Fuel Installation (ISFSI) facility, in response to your submittal of your Quality Assurance Plan, HBI-L6, dated July 19, 2022, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML22200A242), supplemented on February 16, 2023 (ML23047A366) and June 6, 2023 (ML23157A305).
This Approval satisfies the requirements of Title 10, of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 71.17(b) and 71.101(f) for a Quality Assurance Program Description approved by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Termination of your materials license does not cause this Approval to be automatically terminated. If you wish to amend this Approval and have determined it reduces commitments, or terminate this Approval, please request it in writing.
This letter also serves as a reminder that if you are using or planning to use an NRC-approved package, you must be registered for use of that package with NRC. Registration for use of NRC-approved packages should be made pursuant to 10 CFR 71.17(c)(3).
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The PDR is open by appointment.
