SUMMARY
OF APRIL 18, 2024, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS SECTIONS OF THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF TEST, RESEARCH AND TRAINING REACTORS, INC. PROPOSED NEI 23-03 GUIDANCE ON THE 50.59 PROCESS FOR DIGITAL APPLICATIONS (EPID: L-2023-NFG-0002)
On April 18, 2024, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML24086A304), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a public meeting with the National Organization of Test, Research, and Training Reactors (TRTR) staff to continue to discuss endorsement of Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 23-03. A list of attendees is provided as an enclosure to this memorandum.
During the meeting, NRC and TRTR representatives continued the discussion on the TRTR comment responses made to Section 4 of the NEI 23-03 document. The meeting was scheduled to end at 3:00 PM but ended at 2:00 PM. TRTR representatives requested to end the meeting early due to schedule conflicts for key meeting attendees. The NRC staff will continue to propose additional changes to the document for discussion at subsequent meetings. The next meeting to review the NRC comments is set for May 15, 2024. There were no members of the public present in the meeting.
