On April 2, 2024, a clarification call was held between representatives of NRC, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Energy Harbor, and Enercon to help ensure a shared understanding regarding the Severe Accident Mitigation Alternatives (SAMA)-related requests for additional and clarification of information included in the licensing renewal Perry Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 environmental audit summary (ML24064A217). The conversation was for clarification only; no changes to the requests occurred. During the call, Energy Harbor representatives noted that although they were on schedule to respond to the non-SAMA-related RAIs and RCIs, they would most likely be delayed in responding to the SAMA-related ones. Specifically, Energy Harbor now expects to provide those responses no later than May 17, 2024.
