2nd Quarter 2024 Email Update re: Consultation between the Osage Nation and the NRC pertaining to Indiana"s request for Agreement Date:
Monday, April 8, 2024 4:22:00 PM Good day,
The purpose of this email is to provide an update on the progress of the NRCs review of Indianas request for an agreement, as of the second quarter of calendar year 2024. This email is being sent in accordance with the Consultation Agreement between the Osage Nation and the NRC, as detailed in letter dated March 22, 2022 (ML22018A178). Please let me know if you would like to meet with the NRC to discuss this update in any further detail, in accordance with the March 22, 2022, letter.
Significant Activities/Accomplishments The State submitted a draft Agreement State Application to the NRC on April 1, 2024.
Monthly status meetings between the State of Indiana and NRC were held on January 3, January 28, and March 3.
Indiana staff continue to attend NRC training courses and accompany NRC inspectors on inspections in the State.
Upcoming Activities The NRC is finalizing its review of proposed regulations from Indiana. Indiana will address NRC comments and then send proposed regulations out for public comment.
The Indiana draft Application will be publicly available and posted to the NRC web page in mid-April.
The NRC has assembled a team to review the Indiana draft application and provide comments to the state.
