The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff plans to issue an amendment to Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) for Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant (Hatch), Units 1 and 2, on approximately April 23, 2024.

By application dated August 19, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22231B055), as supplemented by letters dated January 20, and October 20, 2023, and January 30, 2024 (ML23020A902, ML23293A235, and ML24030A895, respectively), SNC requested changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) for Hatch, Units 1 and 2. The proposed license amendment request (LAR) would revise TSs for Hatch, Units 1 and 2, to relax required number of fully tensioned reactor pressure vessel head closure studs in technical specifications table 1.1-1, MODES.

If the State of Georgia has comments on the LAR, please provide the comments by the close of business on April 8, 2024.
