FW: RE: RE: RE: NRC Regulatory Information Conference 2024 Panel Good afternoon Mr. Martzke, Your colleague Ms. Ewing (below) has nominated you to represent Michigan State Police, Emergency Management Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) for a Cobalt Magnet 25 (CM25) panel discussion at the 2024 Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Regulatory Information Conference (RIC).

Were very excited to have you join the panel and share your unique perspective!

If you are unfamiliar, the RIC is the largest conference held by the NRC in which regulators, industry, international organizations, and the general public are invited to discuss the most pressing topics in nuclear energy. The conference runs from March 12th - March 14th. As a part of this conference, the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR) has offered to host a panel discussion to highlight the challenges, benefits and unique opportunities for intergovernmental cooperation expected from CM25.

Currently, we are expecting panelists from NRC, DOE, EPA, and Canada to sit alongside yourself representing perspectives from Michigans Radiological Emergency Preparedness program. The expectation is to have each panelist touch on the following topics:

Background of organizational role in nuclear emergency response and recovery Exercise Objectives for CM25 Possible gaps in current response and recovery procedures Opportunities to practice unique/rarely exercised response and recovery capabilities that are only possible in a full-scale exercise like CM25.

Highlight Collaborative interactions with other U.S Government entities, international partners, and non-government organizations.

Discuss the expected benefits to your organization and to the whole of the nuclear emergency preparedness and response enterprise.

Presentation material should be in PPT format. Please send presentation material to me by January 31st.

Note: the CM25 panel is currently scheduled for Thursday March 14th @ 8:30AM.

Attached to this email are two forms for you to fill out (speaker bio and a consent to have your bio displayed on NRC public website). Please fill out both and send them back to me at your earliest convenience.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all regarding the conference.

Thank you for your participation and have a great Holiday!
