30 AM TH17 Exploring the Advantages of a Collaborative Full-Scale Exercise Engagement Michael Waters Michael.Waters@nrc.gov Bennett McEllis (717) 829-8552 bennett.mcellis@nrc.gov Jeffery Grant Team Leader, Response Training, Exercise, and Qualification Program USNRC (240) 429-6135 jeffery.grant@nrc.gov NRC Perspective on the Benefits of Full-Scale Exercise Jeffery Grant serves as the Team Leader for the agency's Incident Response Training, Exercise, and Qualification Program in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response at the USNRC. Mr. Grant began his career at the NRC in May 2004 as an Emergency Response Coordinator. Since coming to the agency, he has served in a number of roles of increasing responsibility, to include rotations as the Chief of the New Reactor Licensing Branch and a prolong stent as the acting Chief of the Coordination Branch. As the Response Program Team Leader, Mr. Grant is responsible for oversight of the agencys Incident Response Programs, ensuring the emergency response organization (ERO) members are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to perform their emergency response roles. Following event at Fukushima, Mr. Grant has worked extensively with the international community and IAEA in addressing lessons learned for this historic accident. Jeff has been serving in the Team Leader role for the past 16 years.

Prior to joining the USNRC, Mr. Grant worked in several positions related Quality Control and Emergency Preparedness for Florida Power and Light (FP&L) at the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant. In addition to his role as the Emergency Preparedness Supervisor, Mr. Grant also specialized in refueling outage support as the lead for logistic of critical equipment evolutions inside containment. Mr. Grant has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, along with a certificate in Nuclear Operations and Engineering.
