SUMMARY
OF MARCH 21, 2024, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS SECTIONS OF THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF TEST, RESEARCH AND TRAINING REACTORS, INC. PROPOSED NEI 23-03 GUIDANCE ON THE 50.59 PROCESS FOR DIGITAL APPLICATIONS (EPID: L-2023-NFG-0002)
On March 21, 2024, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML24067A043), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a public meeting with the National Organization of Test, Research, and Training Reactors (TRTR) staff to continue to discuss endorsement of Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 23-03. A list of attendees is provided as an enclosure to this memorandum.
During the meeting, NRC and TRTR representatives discussed the TRTR comment responses made to Section 4 of the NEI 23-03 document. The meeting was scheduled to end at 2:00 PM but ended at 12:00 PM. TRTR representatives requested to defer additional discussions until the next scheduled meeting to allow more time to review the changes proposed by the NRC staff. Representatives at the meeting scheduled the next meeting to review the NRC comments on the examples in section 4 in a public meeting set for April 18, 2024. There were no members of the public present in the meeting.
