Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application (XCOM1367), dated January 16, 2024, from Materion Brush Inc., for the export of beryllium reflector elements for use as reflectors in the RP-10 Peruvian Research Reactor operated by the Instituto Peruano de Energia Nuclear (IPEN) in Lima, Peru.
Before acting on this request, we ask your assistance in obtaining the necessary Executive Branch views and any assurances from the Government of Peru that may be needed for this export licensing request.
In December 2022, the Government of Peru provided peaceful use assurances for XCOM1349 which authorized the export of beryllium reflector elements for use as reflectors in the RP-10 Peruvian Research Reactor operated by IPEN. However, the export authorized by XCOM1349 was never completed.
In keeping with NRCs licensing process, the dollar amount on page one of NRC Form 7 is proprietary information. The NRC will not include this information in the public record and requests that the Executive Branch agencies protect it as well.
