The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has opened registration for the agencys 36th annual Regulatory Information Conference, to be held March 12-14 in North Bethesda, Maryland, and online. Several thousand conferees from the United States and around the world are expected to attend this three-day hybrid event.

This years conference will focus on adapting to a changing landscape, starting with an address from Chair Christopher T. Hanson, during which he will share his observations and priorities for the agency.

On March 12, Chair Hanson will host a conversation with Lydie Evrard, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security at the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The RIC is the most significant and well-attended NRC event of the year. It gives attendees the opportunity to learn about the NRC's important safety and security mission and to share perspectives from inside and outside the agency and from around the world," said Hanson.

Additional program highlights include plenary sessions with NRC Commissioners David A. Wright, Annie Caputo, and Bradley R. Crowell. The RIC plenary sessions will also include remarks by Ray Furstenau, the NRC acting executive director for operations; Andrea Veil, director of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation; and John Tappert, acting director of the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research.

The conference, which is free to the public, is jointly hosted by the NRCs offices of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Nuclear Regulatory Research. Registration is required to attend.

The full conference program and registration information is available on the NRCs RIC website.
