Dear Commissioners,
The need for electricity does not outweigh the danger posed by continuing to operate this facility.
Since there is no US repository for nuclear waste (spent fuel rods) and no clear guidance or procedures for eternal storage above ground, creating more is senseless.
Already the area will be forever toxic and unsafe for life.
The facility is threatened by 4 earthquake faults - not to mention the Fukushima type disaster that could occur in the event of a Tsunami.
Please do not allow this facility to continue its operations. The potential consequences far outweigh the benefits.
We have the capability to produce more than adequate, clean, responsible, renewable electricity.
Lets make the politicians and utilities accountable for an environmentally friendly, sustainable, affordable, energy future.
