No: IV-23-012 December 14, 2023 CONTACT: Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC to Hold Virtual Meeting Dec. 21 to Seek Public Comments on Draft Environmental Report for Comanche Peak License Renewal The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a virtual meeting from 2-4 p.m. Central time on Dec. 21 to gather comments on the draft supplemental environmental impact statement for renewing the operating licenses of the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant for an additional 20 years. Comanche Peak Unit 1s operating license expires Feb. 8, 2030, and Unit 2s on Feb. 2, 2033.

Participants can join by Microsoft Teams or by teleconference at 301-576-2978, passcode 588791843#. The agency is scheduling this additional meeting due to technical difficulties during a Dec. 7 virtual meeting.

The NRCs review of the license renewal application consists of a safety review and an environmental review. The draft report is part of the NRCs environmental review and is available on the NRCs website. The final environmental report is anticipated to be issued in spring 2024.

In addition to providing oral comments at the meeting, members of the public also can submit comments three other ways: Online at regulations.gov, under Docket ID NRC-2022-0183; email to Tam.Tran@nrc.gov; or by U.S. Mail to Office of Administration, Mail Stop TWFN A60M, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001.

The deadline for submitting comments is Dec. 26.
