The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued the following statement on behalf of the NRC Commission and staff, regarding the passing of former NRC Commissioner Forrest J. Remick.

Dr. Remick has the distinction of being the only person ever to serve the agency as an NRC office director, an administrative judge with our Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, a chairman of NRCs Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, and then as an NRC Commissioner, said NRC Chair Christopher T. Hanson. He also had a distinguished career in the nuclear engineering department at Pennsylvania State University. We are deeply saddened by his death.
