The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Nathan Brown as the new resident inspector at the Callaway nuclear power plant in Fulton, Missouri.

Nathans training and commitment to safety will help the NRC in its mission of protecting people and the environment by helping assure that Callaway continues to meet the high standards set by the agency, said NRC Region IV Acting Administrator Rob Lewis.

Brown joined the NRC in 2019 as a project engineer. Most recently he served as a resident inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville, Arkansas. Brown previously served nine years in the Navys nuclear power program. He holds a bachelors degree in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two resident inspectors. Brown joins senior resident inspector Scott Schwind at Callaway. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conduct regular inspections, monitor plant operations and significant work projects, and interact with plant workers and the public.
