Dear National Regulatory Commission,
I would like to express my opposition to the NRC s approval of PG&Es exemption request for extension of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. Im concerned this will lead to the plant being given a green light for a 20 year permit.
The extension results in increased risk of nuclear accident due to proximity to fault lines, especially with Reactor 1. In addition disposal of spent nuclear waste is an unsolved problem. And finally, the plan extension will slow down clean energy generation, and is very expensive to operate.
Please look at clean renewable energy alternatives.
