DELEGATION OF AUTHORITYSENIOR AGENCY OFFICIAL FOR PRIVACY On June 12, 1998, former U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Chairman Shirley Ann Jackson issued a memorandum designating (by title) the Chief Information Officer (CIO) as the NRCs Senior Agency Official for Privacy. The NRC made this designation in response to Presidential memorandum M-99-05, Privacy and Personal Information in Federal Records, dated May 14, 1998. As the designated official, I have the authority to take such actions as are necessary to ensure that all functions and responsibilities of this position are carried out.
Therefore, as CIO, I hereby delegate to you the position of the NRCs Senior Agency Official for Privacy and the authority to carry out the roles and responsibilities of this position. The Office of Management and Budget memorandum M-16-24, dated September 15, 2016, identifies the roles and responsibilities of this senior agency official as having overall responsibility and accountability for ensuring an agencys implementation of information privacy protections, including the agencys full compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and policies relating to information privacy.
This delegation supersedes any previously issued delegations.
