South Texas Project Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-498; 50-499; 72-1041 Request to Reschedule Evaluated Force-on-Force Drill

South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) is requesting to postpone the Evaluated Force-on-Force Drill scheduled for the week of 1/29/2024. This request is necessary due to a forced outage of Unit 1.

Conducting Security exercises requires numerous plant announcements, potential drill play in the affected unit, station controllers, Operations support, and station-level focus. The forced outage could potentially complicate performing the Security exercises. STP will coordinate with the Staff to schedule another time in Galendar year 2024 to complete the required drill per Inspection Procedure 71130.03.

This request was verbally discussed with Jefferson Clark and Cl iff Roundtree of the Staff on January 26 th and verbally approved. This letter provides this request on the docket.

There are no commitments in this letter.

lfthere are any questions regarding this matter, please contact Derrick Johnson at (361) 972-7088 or me at (361) 972-8031.
