1st Quarter 2024 Email Update re: Consultation between the Osage Nation and the NRC pertaining to Indiana"s request for Agreement Date:

The purpose of this email is to provide an update, as of the first quarter of calendar year 2024, on the progress of the NRCs review of Indianas request for an agreement. This email is being sent in accordance with the Consultation Agreement between the Osage Nation and the NRC, as detailed in letter dated March 22, 2022 (ML22018A178). Please let me know if you would like to meet with the NRC to discuss this update in any further detail, in accordance with the March 22, 2022, letter.
Significant Activities/Accomplishments That State has hired five technical staff and is now fully staffed.
Monthly status meetings between the State of Indiana and NRC were held on October 4, November 1, and November 29, 2023.
Indiana staff continue to attend NRC training courses and accompanied NRC inspectors on inspections in the State.
Upcoming Activities The NRC is reviewing draft proposed regulations from Indiana. Indiana will address NRC comments, then send proposed regulations out for public comment.
During the upcoming Indiana legislation period, the State will address NRC comments on Indiana's proposed legislation.
